Blog 10 - Write Yourself Into the Future Part 1 and 2

The ideal future would have a lot less problems. Things like global warming and the extinction of species would not be a constant problem and discussion. People would be kinder to each other and think about how what they say or do might affect others or the environment around them. People would live with the earth and all of nature in mind. Just like before technology and inventions, they would take care of the land and always leave an area better than they found it. Animal and plant species would have all the resources they need to thrive. Technology might improve in safe ways to allow humans to travel more into space and the oceans without harming any other living things, environments, or earth. We would be able to easily cure diseases like cancer or diabetes, and death would occur less often. Crime, hunger, and homelessness would not be issues because the government would be active in the community and be more focused on helping and improving everyone's lives.

Part 2 (the comments aren't working for me)

My group met on Thursday from 5:00-5:30pm. My story was about how I wish the world could be in the future, while Julia and Brooke's were about their future careers. In mine, I said I hoped things like global warming and extinction of species would end, so I don't think it is too realistic, since the way people treat others and the earth would be the main thing that has to change. There are already many organizations and individuals trying to make that change now and nothing seems to work. Brooke and Julia's stories are more realistic because they wrote about how they picture their lives with their future careers. They are more possible because it's something they can work toward personally. We all wrote about how technology could be advanced in the future and how it could improve or change life. We all also think that thinking about the earth and how it is being affected is important when thinking about or planning for the future.
